Rafael Cásares shared his print studio with visiting Canadian artists and his neighbours for a monoprint workshop. At the Art Centre in Cienfuegos, he helped out with Lysvani's special education class and two groups of children from local schools, grades 4-6. Each participant created a two colour reduction print. Depending on their ability, Lysvani assigned them to work with soft linoleum or styrofoam plates.
Building on the concept of 'useful aesthetic principles,' as illustrated by sculptor Arcadio (see discussion on Anne Milne's page, where Arcadio differentiates between usable and useful) the children created narratives about objects that had become obsolete.
Cienfuegos artist Ernesto Rodríguez González also created a print based on his award winning mobile sculpture Pa' Miguelito
