ReMix institute: hamilton september 2009

  

Phase II, ReMix Institute in Hamilton brings together the local group with new participants and visiting Cuban artists. Performances, exhibitions, workshops and interventions by more than 20 artists are presented in collaboration with Hamilton Artists Inc, You Me Gallery, The Print Studio, Hamilton's Civic Museums - Dundurn Castle, Brantford Native Housing, The Pearl Company, Artword Artbar, Niagara Artists Centre, Christ's Church Cathedral, Workers Arts and Heritage Centre and the Hamilton and District Labour Council.

Sunday, September 6 at Pier IV
1:30 - 4 pm workshop performance

"how to try out for a fake rock band" with Popeye's Golden Theory on tour from Cuba

Monday, September 7

9:30 am Labour Day Parade: Hop on the Art Bus with Cuban and Canadian artists
FREE to join the parade, meet on York Blvd @ Locke

11-2 pm @ Dundurn Park/Dundurn Castle/Cockpit/Garden
- Life studio in the garden by Sadko Hadzihasanovic with
Anne Milne and Tanis MacArthur
- installation by Bryce Kanbara, Dundurn Castle Court Yard
- video by Fleur-Ange Lamothe, Dundurn Castle Cockpit
- performances in Dundurn Park by the Cuban group Popeye's Golden Theory, and local artists Wax Mannequin, Alan Flint, Ulysses Castellanos, Fleur-Ange Lamothe and Andrew McPhail.

1-4 pm Griffin House, 733 Mineral Springs Rd in Ancaster
- installation by Delio Delgado

1:30 pm Art Bus departs from Dundurn Castle for a Tour to Ancaster with urban consultant Colina Maxwell, and to the Griffin House installation by Delio Delgado
